Infrared Reflectography
(coming soon)
Infrared Reflectography (IRR) is a non-destructive technique, in which the image is obtained through a camera with a sensitive sensor only in this range of near-infrared electromagnetic radiation (NIR, 1000-1700 nm).
The observed image results from the conjunction of the phenomena of reflection, absorption and transmission of radiation in the infrared range in the superficial layers, revealing hidden peculiarities, not visible to the naked eye.
This technique has the potential to observe pentimentos, drawings, sketches, reuse of canvases, conservation-restoration interventions, differences in materials and pigments, etc.
This technique allows for an excellent documental record and also specific information about that object, such as a hidden fingerprint.
