Macro photography is a record of the same spectral range as visible light photography.

 

However, this technique uses an arrangement that allows recording images on a micrometre scale.

 

It makes it possible to see details in the object that are difficult to see with the naked eye or to register in a standard photograph.

 

In this technique, it is possible to observe the state of conservation of the pictorial layers, see overlapping layers, residues of biological attacks, cracking details, etc.

 

It is an excellent source of information for conservators and restorers.
