About me

Pedro De Campos is specialized in imaging and physical-chemical analysis of Cultural Heritage objects.

 

He holds a Bachelor's and Licentiate's degree in Physics from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil), and a Master's and PhD in Physics from the University of São Paulo (USP, Brazil).

​

He has been working in the area of Heritage Science since 2005.

 

He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of São Paulo and at the State University of Londrina, participating in studies of the collections of USP museums and in developing and applying new analytical techniques aimed at research in Cultural Heritage.


He was the Laboratory Manager at the Department of Conservation and Built Heritage of the University of Malta.


Currently, he is a consultant and independent photographer based in Brussels.

Subject: Study and elemental characterization by X-Ray Fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy, radiography, and multi-spectral imaging of 36 artworks of the "Independence or Death" noble hall in the Paulista Museum. The goal was to obtain information about the materiality, the artistic/creative processes, and the conservation condition of each object.
